Monumental Complex of St Pietro

In the ancient district of San Pietro, the Church has traces of three following phases of construction related to the architectural development of the city: the first Romanesque facade is documented by the remains of a small porch with five arches resting on columns with Romanesque capitals; the second, in analogy to the churches of Gubbio era, introduces the hallmarks of the Gothic style detectable inside a single aisle with pointed arches with raised polygonal apse, in 1519 the Benedictine Olivetan changed the internal in Renaissance style, covering the vaulted aisles, by closing the altars in large niches and opening the side windows.
