The Bargello Palace, permanent exhibition of the Crossbow
Audioguide (20) The Bargello Palace in Gubbio is located in the historic center, built in early 1300, has all the characteristics of gubbio's civil construction in the Gothic style. Beautifully preserved, so as to represent one of the most comprehensive and important monuments of the city, the building dominates the little square called Largo del Bargello, where is the famous Fontana dei Matti.
The splendid Gothic Palazzo del Bargello, is situated the permanent exhibition of the Crossbow, which celebrates the centuries-old tradition of Gubbio Crossbow each year on the last Sunday in May, is renewed with extraordinary fervor. Three exhibition halls house several examples of ancient crossbow or manesca location and wonderful costumes played on ancient models.
