Mausoleum of 40 Martyrs

Anniversary of the massacre
June 22, 1944

Near the place where the Mausoleum is located at the dawn of Thursday, June 22, 1944 there was the terrible tragedy of the shooting of 40 innocent people in reprisal by the Nazi army.
Everything began with the killing of a German medical officer and injuring a soldier.
the Nazi army to punish the event decided to kill people randomly, the number was determined based on the importance of German soldiers were killed.
40 peopleof any age, were captured and before they had to dig the graves, then were bound and killed by German gunshots.
This mausoleum was erected in memory of these martyrs and to support families affected.
