The Cathedral Gardens
In the upper part of the town there is a large expanse of open ground known as the Cathedral Gardens. In the past, this piece of land was used by the community who lived in the Canonical Residence and also by the nearby Episcopal Residence.
Since 2000, it is the point of arrival for the town’s alternative system of internal transit which is equipped with two lifts: a project carried out by the Municipal Authority in co-operation with the Diocese in order to give facilitated access to the Duke’s Palace, the Cathedral and the Diocesan Museum which are situated in the upper part of the town.
