Fratticiola Selvatica
The name is probably of Lombard origin. It was known as Fratticiola, the actual name "Selvatica", means "Wild", probably is related to its location in a very wooded area.
The discovery of bronze artifacts and ancient walls of the invoice indicating the presence of settlements already in ancient times. In medieval era was a fortified castle, situated on the border of the territory of Perugia, and in 1216 was conquered by Gubbio. Strengthened and reinforced in 1312 by the City of Perugia, at the end of the century it was conquered by Guidalotti and then demolished by the populace in the struggle between the Papacy and Perugia. Rebuilt with a smaller size in the first half of the fifteenth century, remained isolated from the main communication routes.
