Solfagnano
The town is located near the medieval castle, built to defend the transit route between Tuscany and Umbria and is set to 300 m high on the hill Marinello. The name comes from a sulfur spring which still exists. Place of fights between abitants and Florentine troops, in 1410 it was occupied by Braccio da Montone. After the conspiracy de 'Pazzi, in 1479 was again attacked by the Florentine troops led by Malatesta Baglioni. It is said that the capture of a girl of Oddi gave rise instead to a battle, a duel proposed by the Duke of Calabria, who, suddenly broken by the girl's heartfelt request, ended with a banquet.
